Coming Soon: AirAsia Japan

Travel Pangea is excited about new airline partnerships in Asia that will benefit our travelers!

ANA Group (All Nippon Airlines), Japan's largest airline, and AirAsia, the world's best low cost airline, announced that they are teaming up to form AirAsia Japan, a new low-cost carrier. This is great news for budget travelers in Asia, as Japan is typically an expensive place to fly to/from Southeast Asia.

AirAsia Japan plans on flying from Narita International Airport (Tokyo's main airport) starting August 2012, and will be the first low-cost carrier there, serving both domestic and international destinations. Narita is adding a new terminal, hoping to attract more foreign airlines, especially low-cost carriers!

ANA has been looking to get into the low-cost market for a while, and decided partnering with an existing successful low-cost carrier is the best way to do it. At the same time, AirAsia has been rapidly expanding and hoping to push further into the Japanese market.

This partnership may be fruitful for both ANA and AirAsia, but if it succeeds, it will most definitely be helpful for Travel Pangea's budget travelers looking to explore Japan and Asia!
